     写给四川人民的慰问信

Dear Fellow,

      At the news of the earthquake on May.12th, I am shocked. Nowadays, whenever I close my eyes, the scene that folks in the distressed area fight against the disaster comes to my mind. It seems that I can hear the cry, scream, help-calls. I can understand how sorry you must be feeling and please accept my deepest sympathy.

      Mishap is merciless but man is merciful. Indeed, people from all walks of life are on the same boat with you to pull through the mishaps. Their hands have already offered, with some taking part in the saving action in person, others donating money, still others sacrificing their precious lives to assist you.

      Though as a student I am unable to be on the front, I will try my best to be of any assistance. I will launch a donation campaign and write letters to counterparts to encourage them to stand up. I believe if everyone contributes a bit love to it, your homeland will be a more harmonious place to live.
